PATH SHRI SUKHMANI SAHIB

Every year academic session of college is inaugurated with the ceremony of religious programme the Path Shri Sukhmani Sahib. Students of the college show great respect and devotion for the religious ceremony. Respected members from managing committee also are also invited on this occasion. College principal Dr. N.R Sharma address the students regarding the welfare and progress of the college. ‘Guru Ka Langar’ is served to all presentees afterward.

ORIENTATION PROGRAMME

An orientation programme is organized every at the beginning of the session to make the students aware of the course content, details of the academic programme and academic calendar, code of conduct and norms of the college to be followed by them. Students are also made familiar with various labs and equipment in the college during this period.

TEACHER’S DAY CELEBRATION

Teacher day is celebrated in the college every year to pay respect to the teachers. During students and teacher organize a cultural function. Students are also presents gift to the teachers.

TALENT HUNT

In order to nurture the innate talent and potentialities of the students on-stage and off-stage performances is organized and  winners are awarded prizes and medals.

MORNING ASSEMBLY

Every day starts with morning assembly. All students are divided into four houses and inter-house competition is organized. The houses are:

YOUTH FESTIVAL

Panjab University Culture and Heritage Youth Festival  is organized every year to promote the innate talent of youth. Under Youth Festival Category there are 30 events including Music, Dance, Theater, Fine Arts, Drama, Skit, Giddha and Quiz, where as under Heritage category competition in events like Traditional and Ritualistic songs of Punjab, Folk Dance, Folk Instrument and Art and Craft Items like Embroidery, Knitting, Mehndhi, Designing.

College in its expenses gives free training to the participating students by professionals and experts. In this event number of students of the Guru Gobind Singh College participate and win lots of prizes since it inception.

MICRO TEACHING

To make the pupil teachers aware of various Teaching Skills and to make them familiar with different components of teaching skills, Micro Teaching is conducted at college campus every year.  During this practice first Skills were demonstrated by the college teachers and thereafter these skills were practiced by all the pupil teachers.

TEACHING PRACTICE

Teaching practice for the B.Ed. and M.Ed. students are conducted twice in an academics session The first phase of teaching practice conducted during November . In teaching practice pupil teachers are provided a first-hand real teaching experience. Private and Government school near to the regions are opted  for teaching practice.

NSS CAMP

A seven days NSS camp during December is organized under the close supervision of a NSS camp in-charge where few villages opted for the camp and students of the college are deployed in both the village for Social and personal welfare activities like cleaning of villages, tree plantation, blood donation camp, free eye check up camp, slogan writing and rally on female foeticide and drug addiction were done by the volunteers in villages. Poster making and the best use of waste material competition is also organized at the end of the event.

LOHRI CELEBRATION

Lohri is an important festival of North India. It is celebrated with great enthusiasm and joy every year in the Guru Gobind Singh College of Education (For Women). The students perform dances, group dance, folk songs and Sarg Songs etc. Different type of games is also conducted. Also the alumni of the college is invited during this to honour every year.

NATIONAL SEMINAR

National level seminar is organized at college campus on every yearon different research topic in which both students and teaching staff get good exposer for their research paper. All renow resource personal from all across India is inviated to given presentation

SKILL-IN-TEACHING & PREPARATION OF TEACHING AID COMPETITION

Every year students of the college participate in Panjab University zonal Skill-In-Teaching & Teaching Aid Preparation Competition  at both Zonal and Inter-Zonal level and bag lots of Prizes and trophies.

EDUCATIONAL TOUR

Every year educational tour is arranged by tour coordinator to given in-field training and practical experience.  During this students are visited places of historical, scientific, social cultural importance like  Parliament house, Rashtrapati Bhawan, Red Fort, Quab Minar, Gurudwara Shree Seesh Ganj Shahab etc.
